📚 Wimzy Woo
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Who we are
Wimzy Woo ("the app") is one learning app for the whole family: learn anything, at any age. Learners aged 2 to 12 get storybook lessons and games with Wimzy, a talking buddy. Learners aged 13 and up get VoltTech, a hands-on trainer for industrial-tech skills with Volt, an AI mentor. Wimzy Woo is made by NOVA DIGITAL TECH LLC ("we", "us"). Contact us at support@mixmasterpro.app, by mail at 2933 Vauxhall Rd, Ste 7, Vauxhall, NJ 07088-1248, USA, or by phone at +1 (201) 691-7929.
This policy covers the Wimzy Woo app on iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, and the Wimzy Woo AI server that the 13+ features use. It explains what the app keeps on your device, what it sends, who receives it, how long it is kept and how you stay in control.
The short version:
- No accounts, no login. You never give us an email address or a password to use the app.
- Learner profiles and progress stay on your device. We don't run a server that receives them, and we can't see them.
- Nothing about a child under 13 leaves the device. Kids' screens have no AI, no chat, no camera, no microphone, no outside links and no purchases.
- AI is for learners 13 and up, and only after they say yes. What they type to Volt, and photos they choose to send, go to our AI server and to Anthropic to get an answer. The learner's name is never sent.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We never sell data.
- You can delete everything yourself. Remove a learner in the Grown-ups area, or delete the app.
What stays on your device
The app saves the following in its own storage on your phone or tablet. It is never sent to us:
- Learner profiles: name or nickname, age, buddy and chosen subjects, for every learner on the device.
- Kids' progress: stars, stickers, the rating for each level, and sound and voice settings.
- VoltTech (13+) profile and progress: the goal and skill level the learner picked, XP, streak, lesson and lab progress, the learner's AI permission choice, and how many free Volt chats were used today. If the learner fills in their resume or portfolio, it also holds what they typed there (for example an email address, phone number, town, work history) and a profile photo if they add one.
- Subscription status, so paid lessons stay open when you are offline.
Several learners can share one device; each learner's data is kept separately. There is no sync between devices. If your device backup is turned on, iCloud Backup (iPhone and iPad) or Android backup to your Google account may include this saved data so it can come back on a new device. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy terms.
Children's privacy (COPPA and GDPR-K)
Wimzy Woo has lessons for children, so we built it to meet the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the children's rules of the EU and UK GDPR in the simplest way: the app does not collect personal information from children.
- What a parent enters stays on the device. When you add a learner you type a name or nickname (a nickname works just as well), pick an age, a buddy and subjects. As the child plays, the app records stars, stickers and level ratings. All of it stays on the device.
- What children can't reach. While a learner under 13 is active there is no AI chat, no Snap-a-Machine, no job search, no PDFs, no purchases and no outside links. The camera and microphone are never used. These locks are enforced in the app's native code, not just hidden from view. Children under 13 never reach the AI.
- Read-aloud stays on the device. Instructions are spoken by your device's own text-to-speech voices. On Android the app never uses online ("network") voices, so no spoken text leaves the phone.
- What the app still does that isn't about your child. When the app starts, it asks RevenueCat whether a subscription is active, using a random app ID (see Purchases). It never sends a learner's name, age or progress.
- The grown-ups gate. Progress reports, purchases, learner management, settings and this policy sit behind a Grown-ups gate that asks a multiplication question written in words (for example, "What is twenty-three times seven?"). Adding a learner or opening a 13+ profile on a device that has a child learner also goes through this gate.
- Deleting a child's data. Open Grown-ups, choose the learner and tap Remove. Their name, age, buddy, subjects, stars, stickers and ratings are deleted from the device at once. Deleting the app removes every learner. We keep no children's data on our systems, so there is nothing more for us to delete.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information anyway (for example by email), contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Volt, the AI mentor, and Snap-a-Machine (13 and up)
Who can use them
Only learners whose profile is 13 or older. The app blocks AI for learners under 13 in its native code.
We ask first
Before a learner's first Volt message, first VoltTech lesson or first Snap-a-Machine photo, the app shows a one-time screen that explains what is sent and to whom, and asks for permission. If the learner doesn't agree, nothing is sent and Volt stays off. Each learner on the device decides for themselves, and can withdraw permission at any time in the app's Settings (the Volt AI switch); from then on nothing is sent until they allow it again. In the EU and UK, if a learner is younger than the age of digital consent in their country (between 13 and 16), a parent or guardian should give this permission.
What is sent
- The messages the learner types or dictates to Volt, and the recent part of the conversation so Volt can follow along. VoltTech lessons are taught by Volt, so starting a lesson sends that lesson's instructions too.
- A photo, only when the learner chooses to send one with Snap-a-Machine (one per message).
- The app's own instructions for Volt: the mode (Teach, Argue or Interview), the lesson, and the goal and skill level picked in the VoltTech profile.
- A random install ID made by the app (it is not the advertising ID and is not linked to a name), and your network (IP) address, which every internet request carries. Both are used only to limit how many requests one install can make.
Never sent: the learner's name, age, resume details, other learners, or anything from the kids' side.
Who receives it
- The Wimzy Woo AI server, which we run on Cloudflare (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). It adds a safety rulebook, passes the messages and photos to Anthropic, and sends the answer back. It does not keep messages or photos. It does not pass the install ID on to Anthropic.
- Anthropic, the maker of Claude, which writes Volt's answers as our service provider (anthropic.com/legal/privacy). Under Anthropic's commercial terms it does not use this data to train its models, and it deletes it automatically within 30 days. Content that Anthropic's safety systems flag as breaking its usage policy may be kept longer (up to 2 years) for safety review.
How long it is kept
Our server keeps no copy of messages or photos. Cloudflare keeps short technical logs of each request (for example the time, network address, install ID, answer length and any errors, but not the message text or photo) and deletes them automatically after 3 to 7 days.
Volt is an AI
Volt says it is an AI, and the app shows this. Its answers can be wrong. A safety rulebook on our server keeps Volt to learning, technology and career topics and protects teen users. Please don't send Volt personal details (a full name, home address or phone number), photos of people, or other people's private information.
Reporting an answer
Every Volt answer has a Report this answer button. A report sends us the text of that answer, the reason chosen and the Volt mode, together with a shortened install ID. We use reports only to find and fix unsafe or wrong answers. They are kept in our server logs for up to 7 days and, if we turn on report storage, for up to 180 days, then deleted.
Voice input
On iPhone and iPad, the microphone button in Volt uses Apple's speech recognition to turn speech into text, under Apple's privacy terms. The app does not record or keep audio. On Android, use the microphone on your keyboard instead.
Other online features for 13 and up
- Job search. If live listings are switched on, the job title and town the learner types go to our server, which asks Adzuna (adzuna.com/privacy) and/or USAJOBS (usajobs.gov/help/privacy) for matching jobs. Those sites receive only the search words, from our server, with nothing that identifies the learner, and our server doesn't store searches. If live listings are off, the app shows links to job-search websites instead.
- "Learn more" lookups. The app asks Wikipedia for a short summary of a topic, such as "PLC". Wikipedia receives the topic and your network address, as with any website (Wikimedia privacy policy).
- Resume, portfolio and certificate PDFs are made on the device. The share sheet then opens and you choose where to save or send the file. Nothing is uploaded to us.
- Camera and photos are used only when a 13+ learner taps Snap-a-Machine or adds a profile photo. A profile photo stays on the device.
- Outside links (job listings, websites, email) open in your phone's browser or mail app, never inside Wimzy Woo. On kids' profiles, only grown-up screens behind the gate (such as this policy) can open a link. The website you visit has its own privacy policy.
Purchases
Wimzy Woo offers two subscription plans: Kids (every kid level, for every learner on the device) and Everything (Kids plus the full VoltTech tier, with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers). We never see your card details.
- iPhone and iPad: payment goes through Apple In-App Purchase and is charged to your Apple Account (apple.com/legal/privacy). Cancel in the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions.
- Android: payment goes through Google Play Billing and is charged to your Google Play account (policies.google.com/privacy). Cancel in the Google Play app › your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- RevenueCat checks whether a subscription is active (revenuecat.com/privacy). It receives a random app user ID made on the device, the store's purchase record (which plan, price and dates), the store and country, basic device details (model, system and app version) and your network address. It never receives learner names, ages or progress.
- On the kids' side, buying and restoring are only possible from behind the grown-ups gate.
No ads, no analytics, no tracking
There are no advertising or analytics tools in the app. We don't use the advertising ID, we don't track anyone across other companies' apps or websites, and we don't build profiles of learners. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, including as those terms are defined in California law.
Who receives data, at a glance
| Service | What it receives | Why |
| Anthropic | Volt messages, Snap photos, the app's Volt instructions | To write Volt's answers (13+, with permission) |
| Cloudflare | Requests to our AI server, including network address and install ID | Hosts our AI server, rate limits, short logs |
| RevenueCat | Random app user ID, purchase records | Checks subscriptions |
| Apple / Google | Purchases; device backups if you turn them on; speech recognition on iPhone and iPad | Their store and system services |
| Adzuna / USAJOBS | Job search words, from our server only | Job listings (only if live listings are on) |
| Wikipedia | Topic names | "Learn more" summaries |
These companies process the data under their own terms and privacy policies, which require them to protect it. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries.
Your choices and rights
- Turn off AI for a learner in the app's Settings.
- Delete a learner: Grown-ups › choose the learner › Remove.
- Reset VoltTech progress: Settings › Reset progress (13+ profiles).
- Delete everything: delete the app (and, if you want, remove it from your device backups).
- Reports and other requests: email us. Reports aren't linked to a name, so tell us the date and time of the report and we will delete it.
- EU and UK (GDPR): you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on your consent for the AI features, on our contract with you for subscriptions, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe (rate limits and answer reports).
- U.S. state privacy laws (for example California): you can make the same requests by email. We will not treat you differently for making them.
Security
Every connection the app makes uses HTTPS encryption. The AI key is kept only on our server, never in the app, and the server limits how many requests an install can make.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. If a change affects children's data or what the AI features send, we will also show it in the app before it applies.
